The defect
Midway Specialty Vehicles (Midway) is recalling certain 2022 Ford Transit vans equipped with certain Cummins Onan generators. The fuel hose between the inline fuel filter and the Injection Pump Module (IPM) may have inadequate clamp force, possibly resulting in a gasoline leak.
The risk
A gasoline leak in the presence of an ignition source may increase the risk of fire.
The remedy
Dealers will inspect and replace the fuel hose and clamps as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 26, 2023. Owners may contact Midway customer service at 1-574-364-2530 ext. 103.
Notes
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.nhtsa.gov.
A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
