What this recall covers

NHTSA's campaign record, quoted as published

The defect

Vermeer Manufacturing Company (Vermeer) is recalling certain 2024-2025 VXT600G2 vacuum vehicles. Undersized welds on the lift supports may fail, allowing the spoil tank door to open.

The risk

The contents of the tank can fall out the vehicle, creating a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.

The remedy

Dealers will repair the lift support welds, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed December 10, 2024. Owners may contact Vermeer customer service at 1-800-829-0051 ext. 7060. Vermeer's number for this recall is VMV0095.

Notes

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to nhtsa.gov.

A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
