What this recall covers

NHTSA's campaign record, quoted as published

The defect

Palfinger, Inc. (Palfinger) is recalling certain 2017-2025 FHS 55 and GLS 55 vehicles. The outer rear marker lights were installed in the incorrect location. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

The risk

Incorrectly positioned lights can reduce the vehicle's visibility to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.

The remedy

Dealers will install a steel plate and relocate the lights, free of charge. Owners may contact Palfinger customer service at 1-712-256-9347.

Notes

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 (TTY 888-275-9171) or go to nhtsa.gov.

A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
