The defect
Zeekr Technology US, LLC (Zeekr) is recalling one 2025 RT vehicle. The C-Pillar trim may catch the side curtain air bag, preventing the air bag from fully deploying. As such, this vehicle fails to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 226, "Ejection Mitigation."
The risk
An air bag that deploys improperly increases the risk of ejection and injury during a crash.
The remedy
Zeekr will modify the C-Pillar chutes, free of charge. The vehicle was repaired on February 23, 2025. Owners may contact Zeekr customer service at 1-212-481-2050.
Notes
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153) or go to nhtsa.gov.
A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
