What this recall covers

NHTSA's campaign record, quoted as published

The defect

Shyft Group (Shyft) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Blue Arc BA4L-800 vehicles. The headlight horizontal adjustment stud is missing a cover, allowing for horizontal adjustment of the headlight beam. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."

The risk

Adjusting the horizontal headlight beam can create a glare, or reduce visibility for the driver, increasing the risk of a crash.

The remedy

Dealers will install a cover over the horizontal adjustment studs, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed March 14, 2025. Owners may contact Blu Arc customer service at 800-237-7806, or email [email protected].

Notes

Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 888-327-4236 (TTY 888-275-9171) or go to nhtsa.gov.

A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
