The defect
Oshkosh Corporation (Oshkosh) is recalling certain 2025 Defense NGDV ICE 2WD, AWD, and BEV 2WD vehicles. The rearview camera image may not display when the vehicle is placed in reverse. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rear Visibility."
The risk
A blank rearview camera display can reduce the driver's rear visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Oshkosh will inspect and replace the head units as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed May 22, 2025. Owners may contact Oshkosh customer service at 1-800-830-3554. Oshkosh's number for this recall is NGDV_TSB_036. Vehicles that were previously recalled under 24V-928 will need to be inspected and possibly have the head unit replaced again.
Notes
Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1- 888-275-9171) or go to www.safercar.gov.
A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
