The defect
Airstream, Inc. (Airstream) is recalling certain 2025 - 2026 Interstate motorhomes. The Parametric Special Module (PSM) may fail to lock the controls, allowing the awning to be extended during transit.
The risk
An extended awning can detach, becoming a road hazard and increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy
Dealers will correct the PSM pinning assignment, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 31, 2025. Owners may contact Airstream customer service at 1-877-596-6505 or 1-937-596-6111 ext. 7401 or 7411.
A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
