The defect
Porsche Cars North America, Inc. (Porsche) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Macan 4 Electric vehicles. The front seat air bags may be improperly secured to the backrest frame, which can prevent the air bags from deploying properly.
The risk
An improper air bag deployment can increase the risk of injury during a crash. In addition, an improperly secured air bag may project loose components into the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury.
The remedy
Dealers will inspect and repair the backrest frame screws as necessary, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed on September 26, 2025. Owners may contact Porsche customer service at 1-800-767-7243. Porsche's number for this recall is ASA7.
A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
