The defect
Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2026 Cascade, Cherokee, and Campsite Reserve recreational trailers. The 7-way connector may have been incorrectly wired to a breaker without over-current protection.
The risk
Without over-current protection, a short circuit can increase the risk of a fire.
The remedy
Dealers will correct the wiring, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed March 4, 2026. Owners may contact Forest River customer service at 1-260-499-2100. Forest River's number for this recall is 95-2019.
A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
