What this recall covers

NHTSA's campaign record, quoted as published

The defect

Lucid USA, Inc. (Lucid) is recalling certain 2024-2025 Air vehicles equipped with rear-wheel drive. The Gen 4 inverter may experience internal friction and become damaged, causing a loss of drive power.

The risk

A loss of drive power increases the risk of a crash.

The remedy

Lucid will release an over-the-air (OTA) software update to continually inspect for an inverter failure. If a failure is detected Lucid will replace the inverter, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 8, 2026. Owners may contact Lucid at 1-888-995-8243. Lucid's number for this recall is SR-26-05-0.

A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
