The defect
Elgin Sweeper Company is recalling certain 2024-2026 Pelican vehicles equipped with Samsung SDI high voltage battery packs. The high voltage batteries may fail.
The risk
The defective batteries may overheat, increasing the risk of a fire.
The remedy
Dealers will install battery monitoring software, free of charge. The remedy for this recall is currently under development. The Elgin Sweeper Company has not yet provided a schedule for owner notification. Additional letters will be sent once the remedy is available. The Elgin Sweeper Company number for this recall is 26E009.
