What this recall covers

NHTSA's campaign record, quoted as published

The defect

The Heil Co. (Heil) is recalling certain 2025-2026 side loader garbage trucks equipped with certain HH Technologies ReVamp high voltage cabinets, with part number 372-9585. Water may enter an improperly sealed high voltage cabinet and cause component failure or a short circuit.

The risk

Electrical component failure may lead to an unexpected vehicle shutdown, increasing the risk of a crash. In addition, an electrical short increases the risk of a fire.

The remedy

Heil will install a protective enclosure, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed July 28, 2026. Owners may contact Heil's customer service at 1-866-275-4345. Heil's number for this recall is PN-26-354 .

A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
