What this recall covers

NHTSA's campaign record, quoted as published

The defect

Forest River, Inc. (Forest River) is recalling certain 2027 Unmapped, Sabre, No Boundaries, Ibex, Surveyor, Sierra, and Sandpiper travel trailers. The Federal Placard may state an incorrect fresh water tank capacity. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 110, "Tire Selection and Rims."

The risk

Incorrect water tank capacity information can allow the vehicle to be overloaded and increase the risk of a crash.

The remedy

Dealers will replace the incorrect label, free of charge. Additionally Forest River will mail corrected labels to owners. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed in July 2026. Owners of Surveyor, Ibex, No Boundaries and Unmapped trailers may contact customer service at 1-574-642-3119, or Sabre owners may contact customer service at 1-260-499-2100. Forest River's number for this recall is 51-2076.

A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
