What this recall covers

NHTSA's campaign record, quoted as published

The defect

Escape Trailer Industries Ltd. (Escape) is recalling certain 2025-2026 Escape E13 F1 recreational trailers. Insufficient ventilation around the refrigerator may allow carbon monoxide to buildup inside the passenger cabin.

The risk

The accumulation of exhaust fumes increases the risk of injury or death from carbon monoxide poisoning.

The remedy

Dealers will install a ventilation fan and insulation, free of charge. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed August 4, 2026. Owners may contact Escape customer service at 1-855-703-1650.

A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
