Notes

POSSIBILITY THAT THE POWER STEERING BOOSTER BALL STUD HOUSING COULD BE UNDERSIZED.AN UNDERSIZED HOUSING WOULD HAVE REDUCED STRENGTH WHICH COULD RESULT IN A FATIGUE CRACK IN THE AREA OF THE BALL STUD WHICH WILL REFLECT IN 'FREE PLAY' OF THE STEERING WHEEL.IF A CRACK IN THE HOUSING IS ALLOWED TO PROGRESS FAR ENOUGH THE BALL STUD COULD WORK LOOSE FROM THE HOUSING AND RESULT IN A LOSS OF STEERING CONTROL.(CORRECT BY REPLACING UNDERSIZED HOUSING.)

A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
