The defect

ON THE INVOLVED VEHICLES, A REAR-END IMPACT AT CLOSING SPEEDS OF ABOUT 10 M.P.H. OR LESS COULD RESULT IN THE FUEL TANK BEING PUNCTURED BY A TAILLIGHT MOUNTING BOLT.

The remedy

DEALER WILL INSTALL PROTECTIVE CAPS OVER EACH OF THE THREE RIGHT REAR TAILLIGHT MOUNTING BOLTS, WITHOUT CHARGE TO OWNER.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES.SYSTEM: FUEL; FUEL TANK ASSEMBLY.CONSEQUENCES OF DEFECT: LEAKING FUEL, RESULTING FROM AN IMPACT FROM THE REAR,COULD LEAD TO A VEHICLE FIRE AND SERIOUS INJURY TO PASSENGERS.
