The defect

ON THE INVOLVED VEHICLES, THE WINDSHIELD WIPER LINKAGE ARM MAY BREAK AT THE PIVOT PIN WELD AREA. THIS WOULD RENDER BOTH THE RIGHT AND LEFT HAND WIPERS INOPERATIVE.

The remedy

DEALER WILL INSTALL A NEW WIPER LINKAGE WITH PIN COLLAR SUPPORT WITHOUT CHARGE TO OWNER.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: HEAVY TRUCKS.SYSTEM: VISUAL; WINDSHIELD WIPER LINKAGE ARM.CONSEQUENCES OF DEFECT: INOPERATIVE WINDSHIELD WIPERS COULD CONTRIBUTE TO AVEHICLE ACCIDENT IN ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS.NOTE: TO REDUCE THE CHANCES OF FAILURE, WIPERS SHOULD ONLY BE OPERATED ON A WETWINDSHIELD AND SHOULD BE TURNED ON AT THE LOWEST SPEED AND THEN INCREASEDGRADUALLY.
