What this recall covers

NHTSA's campaign record, quoted as published

The defect

THE INVOLVED VEHICLES DO NOT CONFORM TO FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 209, "SEAT BELT ASSEMBLIES" IN THAT THE RIGHT HAND SEAT BELT RETRACTORS USED AT BOTH THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER SEAT POSITIONS MAY HAVE BEEN MISASSEMBLED. AS A RESULT, THEY MAY NOT LOCK.

The remedy

DEALER WILL REPLACE THE DRIVER AND FRONT PASSENGER SEAT BELT ASSEMBLIES AT NO CHARGE.

Notes

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTORHOMES.SYSTEM: INTERIOR; SEAT BELT RETRACTOR.CONSEQUENCES OF DEFECT: IF THE RETRACTORS DO NOT LOCK, PASSENGERS WOULD NOT BEPROPERLY RESTRAINED IN THE EVENT OF A COLLISION, AND THE CHANCES OF PASSENGERINJURY WOULD BE INCREASED.

A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
