The defect

WATER COULD ACCUMULATE BETWEEN THE MOUNTING SURFACE OF THE BRAKE POWER BOOSTER UNIT AND THE FRONT SURFACE OF THE PEDAL SUPPORT BRACKET TO WHICH IT IS ATTACHED. AFTER A PERIOD OF TIME, THE WATER COULD CAUSE CORROSION, WHICH WOULD HINDER THE FREE MOVEMENT OF THE POWER BOOSTER PISTON IN ITS GUIDE CHANNEL.

The remedy

DEALER WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE THE BRAKE POWER BOOSTER WITHOUT CHARGE TO OWNER.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES.SYSTEM: SERVICE BRAKES; POWER BOOSTER.CONSEQUENCES OF DEFECT: WATER ACCUMULATION COULD INTERFERE WITH ENGINE POWER.THE REAR BRAKE LIGHTS MAT REMAIN LIT, AND BRAKE PADS AND LININGS MAY OVERHEAT.LOSS OF POWER ASSISTANCE TO THE BRAKING SYSTEM COULD CAUSE LOSS OF VEHICLECONTROL AND AN ACCIDENT.
