The defect
SOME OF THE VEHICLES MAY HAVE MANGANESE BRONZE SPRING CLIP PLATES USED AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR MALLEABLE IRON. THE SUBSTITUTE CLIPS, WHICH ARE USED TO ATTACH THE SUSPENSION SPRING TO THE REAR AXLE, MAY CRACK ALLOWING THE ASSEMBLY TO LOOSEN. THIS CAN CAUSE REAR AXLE DISPLACEMENT.
The remedy
THE DEALER WILL REPLACE THE MANGANESE BRONZE CLIPS WITH MALLEABLE IRON CLIP PLATES AT NO COST TO OWNER.
