The defect

THE TWO MOUNTING BOLTS FOR EACH OF THE LEFT AND RIGHT SIDE FRONT CALIPERS HAVE BEEN IMPROPERLY TORQUED DURING ASSEMBLY. THE TORQUE WRENCH USED IN THE ASSEMBLY MAY HAVE BEEN MECHANICALLY DEFECTIVE.

The remedy

DEALER WILL RETORQUE THE FRONT BRAKE CALIPER MOUNTING BOLTS TO PROPER SPECIFICATIONS.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES.SYSTEM: SERVICE BRAKES; HYDRAULIC DISC CALIPER.CONSEQUENCES OF DEFECT: THIS CONDITION COULD CAUSE DEGRATION OF THE BRAKINGSYSTEM, WHICH COULD HAVE AN ADVERSE EFFECT ON HANDLING. THIS COULD CAUSE LOSSOF VEHICLE CONTROL AND AN ACCIDENT.
