The defect
THE INVOLVED VEHICLES FAIL TO COMPLY WITH FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 210, "SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY ANCHORAGES". THE CORRECT TOTAL NUMBER OF WELDS MAY NOT HAVE BEEN APPLIED TO SEAT HOLD INSTALLATIONS. IN THE EVENT THAT A SEAT IS WITHOUT A WELD, THE SEAT COULD SLIDE FORWARD UPON IMPACT.
The remedy
A QUALIFIED WELDER WILL WELD THE SOCKET AND HOLDER ASSEMBLY OF THE SEAT. THIS PROCEDURE SHOULD BE PERFORMED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, WITHOUT CHARGE.
