What this recall covers

NHTSA's campaign record, quoted as published

The defect

VEHICLES ARE EQUIPPED WITH AN INSUFFICIENT NUMBER OF SEAT BELTS WHEN COMPARED WITH THE SLEEPING CAPACITY AS ADVERTISED IN THE BROCHURE. THIS FAILS TO CONFORM TO FEDERAL MOTOR VEHICLE SAFETY STANDARD NO. 210, "SEAT BELT ASSEMBLY ANCHORAGES", AND 208, "OCCUPANT CRASH PROTECTION".

The remedy

DEALER WILL INSPECT VEHICLES AND INSTALL ADDITIONAL SEAT BELTS AS NEEDED TO MEET THE REQUIREMENTS.

Notes

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTOR HOMES.SYSTEM: INTERIOR; SEAT BELTS.CONSEQUENCES OF DEFECT: IF ALL PASSENGERS ARE NOT RESTRAINED BY SEAT BELTS, THEPOSSIBILITY OF PERSONAL INJURY IS GREATLY INCREASED IN THE EVENT OF ANACCIDENT.

A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
