The defect

A DEFECTIVE DIFFERENTIAL PINION SHAFT MAY EXIST WHICH CAN COME IN CONTACT WITH THE DRIVE PINION GEAR, CAUSING REAR WHEEL LOCK-UP.

The remedy

PINION SHAFT AND CLIPS, AND POSSIBLY THE PINION GEAR, WILL BE REPLACED WITHOUT CHARGE.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MULTI-PURPOSE PASSENGER VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITHLIMITED-SLIP REAR AXLE.SYSTEM: POWER TRAIN DIFFERENTIAL PINION SHAFT.CONSEQUENCES OF DEFECT: REAR WHEEL LOCK-UP MAY OCCUR WITHOUT PRIOR WARNING,CAUSING A LOSS OF DIRECTIONAL STABILITY AND A POSSIBLE ACCIDENT.NOTE: DO NOT EXCEED MODERATE DRIVING SPEEDS UNTIL SERVICE HAS BEEN COMPLETED.
