The defect
VEHICLES MAY HAVE BEEN WIRED IMPROPERLY SO THAT THE TAILGATE LOCK CAN BE RELEASED WHEN THE VEHICLE IS NOT IN PARK OR IS IN MOTION.
The remedy
CORRECT OPERATION OF THE TAILGATE LOCK WILL BE VERIFIED. THE LOCK RELEASE SHOULD OPERATE ONLY WHEN VEHICLE IS IN PARK AND THE IGNITION SWITCH IS IN THE RUN POSITION. IF THIS IS NOT THE CASE, THE WIRING WILL BE CORRECTED.
