The defect

FAULTY FILTER COLLAPSES UNDER NORMAL AMOUNT OF PRESSURE. LOSS OF STEERING POWER ASSIST WILL RESULT.

The remedy

CUSTOMERS WERE TELEPHONED AND INSTRUCTED TO REMOVE FILTER ELEMENT FROM STEERING. MCI WILL LATER SEND A REPLACEMENT FILTER AND A COMPENSATION FEE OF $8.00 FOR LABOR.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: INTERCITY BUSES.SYSTEM: STEERING; POWER STEERING ASSIST FILTER.CONSEQUENCES OF DEFECT: STEERING WILL BECOME DIFFICULT. POSSIBLE LOSS OFCONTROL COULD RESULT IN AN ACCIDENT.
