What this recall covers

NHTSA's campaign record, quoted as published

The defect

A BRACE BETWEEN THE SEAT MOUNTING BOLTS AND THE CHASSIS RAIL WAS OMITTED DURING ASSEMBLY. THIS OMISSION COULD CAUSE SEVERE DISTORTION OF THE DRIVER'S FLOOR AREA AND SEAT WOULD FAIL TO MEET REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS 207-210. CONSEQUENCE OF DEFECT: SEATS THAT FAIL TO MEET THE FMVSS REQUIREMENT MAY FAIL DURING AN ACCIDENT AND WOULD NOT MINIMIZE INJURY TO ITS OCCUPANTS.

The remedy

INSTALL MISSING BRACE.

A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
