The defect

THE HAZARD FLASHER UNIT, WHEN USED IN PLACE OF THE TURN SIGNAL FLASH UNIT, DOES NOT PROVIDE LAMP OUTAGE INDICATION AS REQUIRED BY FMVSS 108.

The risk

DRIVER WOULD NOT REALIZE TURN SIGNAL LAMP HAS BURNEDOUT.

The remedy

REPLACE HAZARD FLASHER UNIT WITH A NEW TURN SIGNAL FLASHER WHICH COMPLIES WITH FMVSS 108.
