The defect
THE WINDSHIELD WIPER/WASHER SWITCH ON THE DASH IS NOT ILLUMINATED, AND DOES NOT COMPLY WITH FMVSS 101, "CONTROLS AND DISPLAYS."
The risk
DURING NIGHT OPERATION, THE LACK OF A LIGHT MAY DIVERTTHE ATTENTION OF THE DRIVER, THEREBY CONTRIBUTING TO AN ACCIDENT.
The remedy
INSTALL A LIGHT OVER THE WIPER/WASHER CONTROL SWITCH.
