What this recall covers

NHTSA's campaign record, quoted as published

The defect

THE LPG IRON MANIFOLD SYSTEM WAS NOT BONDED TO THE CHASSIS GROUND. THIS CAN CREATE THE POTENTIAL FOR ELECTRICAL ARCING BETWEEN THE CHASSIS FRAME AND THE LPG IRON MANIFOLD SYSTEM.

The risk

IF ELECTRICAL ARCING OCCURS AND LPG VAPOR IS PRESENT, THELPG VAPOR COULD BE IGNITED AND START A FIRE.

The remedy

INSTALL A GROUNDING STRAP BETWEEN THE LPG IRON MANIFOLD SYSTEM AND THE CHASSIS FRAME.

Notes

SYSTEM: LIQUID PETROLEUM GAS (LPG); FITTINGS.VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: CLASS A MOTORHOMES.

A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
