What this recall covers

NHTSA's campaign record, quoted as published

The defect

THE FRONT BRAKE AIR LINES ARE INCORRECTLY ROUTED THROUGH THE PRESSURE PROTECTION VALVE AT THE AUXILIARY WET TANK. THIS RESULTS IN LACK OF AIR PRESSURE TO THE FRONT BRAKES WHEN THE AIR PRESSURE IN THE AUXILIARY WET TANK DROPS BELOW 65 P.S.I., RESULTING IN INOPERABLE FRONT BRAKES.

The risk

WHEN THERE IS NO FRONT BRAKE APPLICATION, STOPPINGDISTANCE INCREASES, AND THERE IS AN INCREASED RISK OF ACCIDENT.

The remedy

CORRECTLY REROUTE THE BRAKE LINES.

Notes

SYSTEM: BRAKES.VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: REAR ENGINE BUSES.

A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Whether a specific vehicle is covered depends on its VIN — a recall listed for a model year does not necessarily apply to every vehicle of that year.
