The defect

STRAPS HOLDING THE SLEEPER UPPER BUNK IN THE RAISED POSITION CAN RELEASE WITHOUT WARNING.

The risk

IF THE RESTRAINING STRAP RELEASES SUDDENLY, THE BUNKFALLS WITHOUT WARNING AND CAN STRIKE AN OCCUPANT SITTING IN THE LOWER BUNK CAUSING PERSONAL INJURY.

The remedy

DEALERS WILL MODIFY THE ATTACHMENT OF THE UPPER BUNK RESTRAINING STRAP TO THE UPPER BUNK AND REAR WALL OF THE SLEEPER AND INSTALL A NEW REDESIGNED BUNK RESTRAINING STRAP.

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: TRUCKS EQUIPPED WITH DOUBLE SLEEPER BUNKS.NOTE: OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT NAVISTAR INTERNATIONAL AT 1-800-448-7825.
