The defect

EQUIPMENT DESCRIPTION: LEVEL I ADAPTERS (110V CHARGING CABLES) FOR USE AS A BACK-UP POWER SUPPLY FOR 1998 EV PLUS HONDA VEHICLES. AN OPEN IN THE CIRCUIT WIRING WAS CAUSED BY AN OVERHEATING OF A MECHANICAL CONNECTION.

The risk

AN ELECTRICAL SHORT AND POSSIBLE FIRE COULD OCCUR DUE TO THIS CONDITION.

The remedy

REPLACEMENT CABLES WERE MAILED TO OWNER.

OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JANUARY 6, 1998.ALL VEHICLES HAVE BEEN CORRECTED.NO FURTHER ACTION IS REQUIRED ON THIS RECALL.
