The defect

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: THESE VEHICLES WERE BUILT FOR THE U. S. POSTAL SERVICE. THE CONTROL SWITCH FOR THE BACK-UP LIGHTS WERE OMITTED DURING ASSEMBLY.

The risk

OTHER VEHICLES OR PEOPLE WALKING BEHIND THESE VEHICLES MAY NOT BE AWARE THAT THE VEHICLE IS BACKING UP INCREASING THE POTENTIAL FOR PROPERTY DAMAGE OR INJURY TO PEDESTRIANS.

The remedy

POSTAL SERVICE REPAIR SHOPS WILL BE PROVIDED WITH A SWITCH AND WIRING TO CONNECT THESE LIGHTS.
