The defect

VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: TRANSIT BUSES EQUIPPED WITH AN AUXILIARY DIESEL POWERED HEATER (PROHEAT BRAVO MODEL 80). AN IMPROPERLY ASSEMBLED FUEL REGULATOR CAN ALLOW AN EXCESS AMOUNT OF FUEL INTO THE COMBUSTION CHAMBER.

The risk

THIS LEAKAGE CAN LEAD TO A POTENTIAL FOR FLAMES TO ESCAPE FROM THE HEATER EXHAUST.

The remedy

TELEFLEX CANADA, THE MANUFACTURER OF THE HEATER, WILL INSPECT AND, IF NECESSARY, REPLACE ALL DEFECTIVE REGULATORS.

OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JUNE 16, 1998.ALL OWNERS HAVE BEEN CONTACTED AND THEIR VEHICLES REPAIRED.NO FURTHER ACTION IS NECESSARY ON THIS RECALL.
