The defect
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: TRUCK BODIES INSTALLED ON NAVISTAR 1652C CHASSIS AND EQUIPPED WITH AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSIONS. THE PARKING BRAKE WAS ROUTED SO THAT IT CAN CONTACT THE LEFT FRONT TIRE. THIS CONTACT CAN CAUSE THE PROTECTIVE SHEATH TO BE WORN AWAY, POTENTIALLY CAUSING FAILURE OF THE CABLE.
The risk
THIS CONDITION CAN DISABLE THE PARKING BRAKE.
The remedy
DEALERS WILL RELOCATE THE CABLE OUT OF THE AREA OF THE FRONT TIRE AND REPLACE ANY CABLES WORN BY THE TIRE.
