The defect
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: MOTORCYCLES. THE FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT WAS INCORRECTLY MANUFACTURED AND COULD LEAK.
The risk
IN THE PRESENCE OF AN IGNITION SOURCE, FUEL LEAKAGE CAN RESULT IN A FIRE.
The remedy
DEALERS WILL REPLACE THE FUEL LEVEL SENDING UNIT.

OWNER NOTIFICATION IS EXPECTED TO BEGIN SEPTEMBER 15, 1998.OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR MOTORCYCLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT POLARIS/VICTORY AT 1-612-542-0500.ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236).
