The defect
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: PASSENGER VEHICLES. THE HOOD LINER CAN SAG AND INTERFERE WITH THE THROTTLE LINKAGE.
The risk
THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE HIGH ENGINE IDLE SPEED, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.
The remedy
DEALERS WILL REPAIR THE HOOD LINER.

OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN DECEMBER 12, 1998. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT JAGUAR AT 1-201-818-8500.
