The defect
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: LOW SPEED UTILITY VEHICLES. THESE VEHICLES DO NOT COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NO. 500, "LOW SPEED VEHICLES," AND PART 567, "CERTIFICATION." THESE VEHICLES DO NOT HAVE A 17 DIGIT VEHICLE IDENTIFICATION NUMBER ATTACHED, HAVE INCORRECT WINDSHIELD MATERIAL AND MARKINGS, AND NO CERTIFICATION LABEL.
The remedy
DEALERS WILL INSTALL VIN LABELS AND AS-1 SAFETY GLASS.

OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN DECEMBER 1, 1999. OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT ULTRA CARTS AT 1-909-739-0134.ALSO CONTACT THE NATIONAL HIGHWAY TRAFFIC SAFETY ADMINISTRATION'S AUTO SAFETY HOTLINE AT 1-888-DASH-2-DOT (1-888-327-4236).
