The defect
VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: HEAVY DUTY TRUCKS. THE CHECK VALVES IN THE AIR BRAKE SYSTEM ON THESE VEHICLES DO NOT MEET THE REQUIREMENTS OF FMVSS NO. 121, "AIR BRAKE SYSTEMS."
The risk
INCREASED BRAKING EFFORT MAY BE REQUIRED.
The remedy
DEALERS WILL INSTALL NEW CHECK VALVES ON THE VEHICLES INVOLVED.

OWNERS WHO TAKE THEIR VEHICLES TO AN AUTHORIZED DEALER ON AN AGREED UPON SERVICE DATE AND DO NOT RECEIVE THE FREE REMEDY WITHIN A REASONABLE TIME SHOULD CONTACT NAVISTAR AT 1-800-448-7825.
