WHILE DRIVING AT 50 MPH THE DRIVER'S SIDE AIR BAG DEPLOYED DUE TO CROSS BAR BEAM STRIKING SOMETHING IN THE ROAD. ACCORDING TO DEALER, THE AIR BAG DEPLOYED CORRECTLY, BUT THE OWNER BELIEVES THAT THE SENSOR IS DEFECTIVE. *ML
WHILE DRIVING 55-60 MPH AIR BAG ON THE DRIVER'S SIDE DEPLOYED FOR NO REASON, WHICH ALMOST CAUSED DRIVER TO CRASH. THE AIR BAG DEPLOYMENT CAUSED INJURIES TO DRIVER'S ARMS. PLEASE PROVIDE ANY FURTHER INFORMATION. *AK

Engine

THE LOWER "A" ARM OF THE FRONT SUSPENSION HAS CRACKS IN IT. FRACTURE OF THE "A" ARM WOULD RESULT IN THE WHEEL TURNING AND LOSS OF CONTROL OF THE VEHICLE. THE HEAD GASKET LEAKS AND THERE ARE NUMEROUS OTHER LEAKS IN THE ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION SEALS.
LACK OF HEAT IN THE VEHICLE DUE TO FAILURE IN MANUFACTURE WITH THE LACK OF A HOLE HAVING BEEN DRILLED IN THE BLOCK WHERE IT WAS SUPPOSED TO BE AND WHICH PREVENTED PROPER AND SUSTAINED HEATING.

THE TRANSMISSION IS STANDARD AND IS SOMETIMES HARD TO GET IT INTO REVERSE AND SOMETIMES INTO 1ST GEAR. IT IS IS A 5 SPEED TRANSMISSION. *AK

ORIGINAL GAS TANK HAD TO BE REPLACED ON OCTOBER 22, 2002. SINCE THEN CONSUMER HAD REPLACED THE GAS TANK 5 MORE TIMES.*AK
SERIOUS PROBLEM WITH BAD GAS TANK ON SAAB 900, REPLACED 5 TANKS IN THE PAST 2 1/2 YEARS. *BF THE CONSUMER STATED THE VEHICLE WAS BACK AT THE DEALERSHIP TO HAVE THE GAS TANK REPLACED FOR THE 6TH TIME. *JB

Tires & wheels

TL* THE CONTACT OWNS A 1992 SAAB 900. THE VEHICLE WAS EQUIPPED WITH GOODYEAR ASSURANCE TIRES SIZE 195-60-R15, THE DOT NUMBER AND SERIAL NUMBERS WERE NOT AVAILABLE. THE CONTACT STATED THAT WHILE DRIVING 60 MPH, THE VEHICLE WOULD NOT STAY IN A STRAIGHT LINE. THE CONTACT INSPECTED THE VEHICLE AND FOUND LARGE BUBBLES ON THE FRONT DRIVER TIRE SIDEWALL. THE VEHICLE WAS TAKEN TO A LOCAL TIRE SPECIALIST WHO EXAMINED THE TIRE AND ADVISED THAT THE TIRE WAS DEFECTIVE. THE TIRE WAS REPLACED. THE TIRE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 80,000. THE VEHICLE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 299,000.
PIRELLI TIRES REPLACED DUE TO IRREGULAR WEAR/VIBRATION.
