What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2003 Safari Coach Trek Gas, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

DRIVING ON HWY 101 IN CA MY "AUTO-PARK"LIGHT CAME ON. I STOPPED AND CALLED WORKHORSE, THE MFG. OF THE RV'S CHASSIS. THEY GAVE ME THE NAME OF A REPAIR FACILITY ABOUT 90 MILES AWAY. UPON ARRIVING AT THE FACILITY I PUT THE RV IN REVERSE TO PARK IT AND THE RV WOULDN'T MOVE. THE PARKING BRAKE SYSTEM (AUTO-PARK) ENGAGED SO I COULD NOT MOVE. THE RV WAS LOCKED UP. COULD NOT GO FORWARD OR REVERSE. THE PROBLEM WAS DIAGNOSED TO BE A BAD PRESSURE SWITCH. THE SAME EXACT THING HAPPENED ALMOST EXACTLY TWO YEARS EARLIER AT A BUSY INTERSECTION IN CA. I HAD TO BE TOWED. THE PROBLEM WAS THE SAME FAULTY PRESSURE SWITCH. *TR

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2003 SAFARI TREK GAS MOTOR HOME. THE CONTACT RECEIVED A RECALL NOTICE FOR THE VEHICLE SPEED CONTROL IN AUGUST OF 2007 AND A REMINDER THE FOLLOWING SEPTEMBER. THE DEALER STATED THAT THE PARTS WOULD BE AVAILABLE IN DECEMBER. BY FEBUARY OF 2008, THE PARTS WERE STILL UNAVAILABLE. THE NOTICE STATED THAT THE RECALL REPAIR WOULD BE PERFORMED IN LESS THAN HALF AN HOUR; HOWEVER, THE DEALER INFORMED HIM THAT HE WOULD NEED TO LEAVE THE VEHICLE FOR TWO DAYS AND DRIVE 40 MILES FOR THE REPAIR. THE RECALL NUMBER WAS UNKNOWN. THERE HAD BEEN NO FAILURE TO DATE. UPDATED 05/19/08. *LJ
