The defect: Seagrave Fire Apparatus, LLC (Seagrave) is recalling certain 2022 Seagrave Marauder and Capitol emergency vehicles. The tie rod clamps may have been improperly heat-treated, causing them to fail and allowing the tie rods to separate.
The risk: Separated tie rods can result in a sudden loss of steering, increasing the risk of a crash.
The remedy: Dealers will replace the tie rod clamps, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on November 15, 2022. Owners may contact Seagrave's customer service at 1-877-777-5360.

Safety recall
A safety recall is issued when a manufacturer or NHTSA determines that a vehicle has a safety-related defect or does not comply with a federal motor vehicle safety standard. Recall repairs are free. Manufacturer communication
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
