TIRE TREAD SEPARATION INVOLVING FIRESTONE STEEL TEX TIRES CAUSED DAMAGE TO STORAGE BINS ON SHASTA CLASS C MOTOR HOME.*MR THE CONSUMER EXPERIENCED 3 SEPARATED TREAD SEPARATION ON HIS MOTORHOME. THE FIRST SEPARATION DID NOT RESULT IN ANY DAMAGE (17,000). THE SECOND SEPARATION CAUSED MINOR DAMAGE TO ONE OF THE STORAGE BINS (22,000 MILES). THE THIRD TREAD SEPARATION CAUGHT THE MAIN PROPANE GAS LINE AND RIPPED THE GAS STOVE DOWN THROUGH THE INSIDE CABINET CAUSING EXTENSIVE DAMAGE TO THE MOTORHOME (30,700). THE CONSUMER CONTACTED FIRESTONE AND SHIPPED THE TIRES TO THEM. THE MANUFACTURER RESPONDED BY SAYING THAT THE TIRE WHERE NOT PROPERLY INFLATED WHICH CAUSED THEM TO FAIL. THE CONSUMER INDICATED THAT HE MADE SURE THE TIRES WERE PROPERLY INFLATED PRIOR TO EVERY TRIP (FIRESTONE STEELTEX LT225/75/R16 RADIAL). *NM
