Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2013 Skyline Weekender, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

4/25/2014, RECEIVED RECALL NOTICE FROM SKYLINE, ALONG WITH A SIMILAR LETTER FROM FASTEC INDUSTRIAL IN THE SAME ENVELOPE CONCERNING NHTSA #13V-652, INFORMING ME OF A POSSIBLE DEFECT OF THE DEADBOLT LOCK INSTALLED IN MY CAMPER FROM WESCO FASTEC INDUSTRIAL WITH INSTRUCTIONS OF WHAT TO CHECK FOR. I CHECKED AND MY LOCK, #HF-320, WAS LISTED IN THE RECALL. I IMMEDIATELY THAT SAME DAY SUBMITTED A CLAIM WITH THE COMPANY PER THEIR INSTRUCTIONS AN EMAIL CONFIRMATION LETTING ME KNOW THEY HAD RECEIVED MY CLAIM AND TO EXPECT MY ORDER TO SHIP IN APPROXIMATELY 3-4 WEEKS. 6/10/2014, I DID NOT RECEIVE MY LOCK YET SO I EMAILED FASTEC, LETTING THEM KNOW I ORIGINALLY EMAILED ON 4/25/2014 BUT HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY REPLACEMENT LOCK AND ASKED FOR A STATUS. I DID NOT HEAR BACK FROM THEM. MY WIFE HAD THEN EMAILED FASTEC SOMEWHERE AROUND JULY 1ST ASKING FOR A STATUS. 7/3/2014, FASTEC REPLIED,"I AM SORRY FOR YOUR INCONVENIENCE. WE ARE CURRENTLY WORKING ON MARCH THE 1ST ORDERS FOR THE RECALL. DUE TO THE VOLUME OF ORDERS WE HAVE FALLEN BEHIND ON GETTING ORDERS OUT. THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATIENCE WITH US DURING THIS TIME." 9/14/2014, AS OF THIS DATE I HAVE STILL NOT HEARD BACK FROM FASCO OR RECEIVED A REPLACEMENT DEADBOLT LOCK. I AM NORMALLY NOT ONE TO COMPLAIN BUT I FEEL I HAVE WAITED MORE THAN A REASONABLE AMOUNT OF TIME FOR A REPLACEMENT LOCK. *TR
Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.
Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
