The defect: Spencer Manufacturing, Inc. (Spencer) is recalling certain 2024 Pumper vehicles equipped with Weldon 8X16 Input-Output nodes. In the event of a short circuit or wiring failure, the firmware may fail to shut off the output pin, resulting in overloaded electrical circuits.
The risk: Overloaded electrical circuits can overheat, increasing the risk of fire.
The remedy: Spencer will work with Weldon to update the firmware, free of charge. Owners may contact Spencer customer service at 1-269-637-8721.

Manufacturer communication
Manufacturers file copies of the bulletins they send to dealers with NHTSA. These often describe diagnostic or repair procedures for a known condition. They are not recalls: repairs described in a bulletin are usually only free if the vehicle is still under warranty or the manufacturer has extended coverage.
