1982 Sportscoach Cross Country Problems

Owner-reported complaints filed with NHTSA, grouped by component

Data refreshed

Owner complaintsComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

BRIDGESTONE 8R19.5 TIRE. HAVE HAD TWO BLOWOUTS ON VERY GOOD TIRES ON MY MOTORHOME. FIRST BLOWOUT WAS APRIL 06 AND THE MOST RECENT WAS JULY 06. EACH TIME THE VEHICLE WAS OPERATING AT NORMAL SPEED WITH PROPER TIRE INFLATION. UNKNOWN AS TO WHY THESE TIRES HAVE FAILED. HAVE REPLACED FIRST BLOWOUT WITH A USED NON BRIDGESTONE TIRE AND REPLACED 2ND BLOWOUT WITH A NEW NON BRIDGESTONE TIRE AS A SPARE. CONCERN IS ON THE REMAINING TIRES ON MY VEHICLE. THIS IS AN EXPENSIVE FIX TO REPLACE THE OTHER FOUR TIRES THAT APPEAR TO BE PERFECTLY IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. HELP, PLEASE!!! MOTORHOME SUSTAINED SOME DAMAGE TO UNDER CARRIAGE TO TO BOTH BLOWOUTS WITH THE LAST BLOWOUT WAS MORE SEVERE. MOTORHOME IS PARK PENDING FINDINGS OF THESE TIRES. *NM

Too few reports in this category for a page of its own — they appear in the full complaint list.

Higher-selling and older vehicles accumulate more reports. Counts are not failure rates and are not directly comparable between vehicles that sold in very different numbers.
