2007 Suzuki Dr-Z400SM Owner Complaints

Reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers, shown in full

Data refreshed

Complaints on fileComplaints are reports submitted to NHTSA by owners and drivers. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a complaint does not establish that a defect exists. Volume is influenced by how many of a vehicle were sold, how long it has been on the road, and how much attention an issue has received.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2007 SUZUKI DR-Z400SM MOTORCYCLE. THERE IS A FUEL TAP ON THE VEHICLE, WHICH TURNS THE FUEL ON AND OFF. SOMEWHERE IN THE FUEL TAP THERE IS A VACUUM THAT RUNS THE GASOLINE DOWN TO THE CARBURETOR. AT ANY GIVEN MOMENT, THE VACUUM SHUTS DOWN FOR NO APPARENT REASON, WHICH CAUSES THE VEHICLE TO STALL AS IF IT RAN OUT OF GAS. THE STALLING OCCURRED WHILE DRIVING 35 MPH AND WHILE IDLING. THE CONTACT FEELS THAT HE COULD GET REAR ENDED ONCE THE VEHICLE STALLS, WHICH IS A SAFETY HAZARD. THE WEATHER WAS NOT A FACTOR. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 3,000. UPDATED 10/14/08 *BF
