What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2008 Suzuki Gsx-1300RK8, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

TL*THE CONTACT OWNS A 2008 SUZUKI GSX-1300RK8. THE CONTACT STATED THAT THE KICKSTAND WAS DEFECTIVE AND WOULD NOT SUPPORT THE VEHICLE. HE STOPPED RIDING THE VEHICLE. THE DEALER AND MANUFACTURER STATED THAT THERE WAS NO FAILURE WITH THE KICKSTAND AND ADVISED THE CONTACT TO PLACE THE VEHICLE IN FIRST GEAR. THE CURRENT AND FAILURE MILEAGES WERE 4.

I JUST CALL SUZUKI 714-572-1490 TO RECEIVE SERVICE ON A RECALL FOR MY MOTORCYCLE THEY DENY TO GAVE ME THE SERVICE BECAUSE THEY CANT FIND THE VIN NUMBER. THIS MOTORCYCLE HAS A 2 RECALL ONE FOR THE VOLTAGE REGULATOR THAT MAY CAUSE AN EXPLOSION AND THE OTHER ONE FOR IGNITION KEY. *TR

SUZUKI BOULEVARD M109R YEAR 2008. THE MOTORCYCLE WOULD VIOLENTLY SHAKE WHEN LEAVING FROM A COMPLETE STOP. THOUGH IT IS NOT VERY CONSISTENT. IT ONLY HAPPENS ONCE IN A WHILE. IT HAPPENED AGAIN AT 7/11/08 WHEN MY GIRLFRIEND WAS RIDING WITH ME, AND I FEAR FOR HER SAFETY AS THE MOTORCYCLE IS NOT VERY RESPONSIVE WHEN THIS DEFECT HAPPENS. I'VE TAKEN THE MOTORCYCLE TO THE DEALER AND THEY REPORTED THAT THEY COULDN'T RECREATE THE PROBLEM. THIS PROBLEM IS CONSISTENT FOR THIS MODEL ACCORDING TO THE MEMBERS OF M109RIDERS.COM, THEY REPORTED THAT IT IS A CLUTCH HUB DEFECT AND THAT THE SPRINGS IN THE HUB IS NOT SUFFICIENT FOR THE MOTORS POWER. I TRULY AM CONCERNED ABOUT THIS PROBLEM ESCALATING BECAUSE OF SAFETY. THE ABILITY OF THE MOTORCYCLE TO RESPOND WHEN NEEDED IS CRITICAL TO THE RIDERS SAFETY. *TR
