What this page shows
Everything below is an owner-reported complaint submitted to NHTSA about the 2001 Thor California Wanderer, grouped by the component NHTSA recorded on the report. These are not confirmed defects, and they are not recalls. NHTSA does not verify most reports before publishing them, and a category with more reports in it is not evidence that a part is defective.
Complaints are reports submitted by owners and drivers to NHTSA. They are not verified and do not establish that a defect exists.

WHILE PULLING A 2001 28FT TOYHOUSE TRAILER IN NEVADA ON HWY 50 LATE AT NIGHT I HAD A TIRE COME APART ON ME. THE TIRE NEVER LOST AIR AND I DROVE ABOUT 10 MILES ON IT. WHEN I GOT TO WHERE I WAS GOING, I SAW THE SIDE OF MY TRAILER WAS DAMAGED. THANKFULLY NO ONE WAS HURT AND WE DID NOT CRASH. ALTHOUGH THERE WAS ALOT OF DAMAGE DONE. THEN, 3 WEEKS LATER, DRIVING ON HWY 395 IN NEVADA, THE FRONT TIRE ON THE SAME SIDE CAME APART. THIS ALSO CAUSED ALOT OF DAMAGE. NOW ONE OF THE TIRES ON THE OTHER SIDE IS CRACKING AT THE TREAD. IT TOO LOOKS LIKE IT IS COMING APART. WHEN I SENT THE TIRES TO CONTINENTAL TIRES THEY INVESTIGATED THEM AND GOT BACK TO WEEKS LATER AND SAID ONE TIRE THEY WOULD EXCEPT AS THERE FAULT AND THE OTHER WAS OVER INFLATED OR OVER LOADED. NATURALLY THERE CLAIMING THE FRONT TIRE THAT DID THE LEAST AMOUNT OF DAMAGE. TWO ESTIMATES $5700. AND $6200. DOLLARS LATER THEY CONTACT ME WITH AN OFFER OF 4 NEW TIRES OF THERES AND $500. DOLLARS. IF THAT ISN'T A JOKE. THEY CAN'T EVEN STEP UP TO THE PLATE AND EXCEPT THAT THERE TIRES ARE FAILING ON MORE THAN ONE VEHICLE. WHAT'S IT GOING TO TAKE " DEATHS" FOR THEM TO WAKE UP! *NM
